A heart scan is performed using a CT scanner to determine the amount of hardened plaque inside your coronary arteries. This screening can reveal hidden risks, giving you the power to make informed decisions about your health and providing peace of mind.
To be eligible, men must be older than 35, and women must be older than 40. You must weigh 345 lbs or less. Patients must have a primary care physician to whom the heart scan results can be sent. Patients must disclose if they are under the care of a cardiologist. This test is not recommended for patients with stents or previous heart surgery. We do not bill medical insurances for specially priced heart scans.

How Heart Scan Scheduling Works
- Review the eligibility criteria. Men must be older than 35 and women older than 40, with a weight of 345 lbs or less. You need a primary care physician who can receive your results, and the test is not recommended if you have stents or prior heart surgery.
- Complete the questionnaire. Your answers about referring provider, weight, pregnancy and past cardiac procedures help our team confirm a coronary calcium scan is appropriate for you.
- Pick your location. Self-schedule at either the Noblesville or Westfield campus, or call 317.776.7247 and dial option 1 to book by phone.
If you do not currently have a primary care physician to receive your scan results, you can book the first available primary care appointment or browse Riverview Health providers before scheduling your scan.
